Hello Roosevelt Families,
I hope this message finds you well!
RMS is in seeking a volunteer to lead our Yearbook team this year. If you are a creative person who enjoys working with middle schoolers, this is a fun and rewarding opportunity. The Yearbook team meets once per week, on Wednesday after school, and is responsible for producing our annual yearbook. If you are interested, please contact Mike Yocum or Laura Fuhriman.
This Thursday evening 10/16, we hope to see you at our Parents at Roosevelt (PAR) group meeting at 6:30pm in the RMS library or online via Google Meet at this link: meet.google.com/chp-fedx-csw
This year, Roosevelt, along with all 4j middle schools, will be administering the SAEBRS (Social, Academic, and Emotional Behavior Risk Screener) universal screening tool in three windows throughout the 2025–2026 school year. SAEBRS is a brief, norm-referenced tool used to identify areas of potential areas of growth and is built to align academic and socio-emotional learning opportunities and interventions to increase well-being and developmental competencies. SAEBRS is designed to identify students who may benefit from additional academic or behavioral support. SAEBERS is confidential and will be administered in House. If you have any questions or concerns about the screener and how it is used, please contact Mike or Kelsea. RMS will administer the fall SAEBERS tool on 10/20 in House. To learn more about the SAEBERS, click here ( Spanish version).
On 11/13 at 6:30pm, Roosevelt will hold our first Parent Education Night of the year. Parent Education Nights are forums on topics relevant to middle school age students. Stay tuned for more information, and for now, please mark the date.
Last week we highlighted our daily Homework Club. We’re including it again this week as it’s such a great resource for students. Homework Club happens everyday before school (8:30 - 8:55) and everyday after school (M, T, TH, F 3:40 - 4:15, W: 2:35 - 3:15). Homework Club is another excellent opportunity for students to get work done or get some additional help from a staff member. There’s no need to sign up in advance, although they do keep track of who attends. We hope your student will access this excellent resource.
Have a great week, all, and please reach out if there’s anything we can support with!
Mike & Kelsea

Another big thank you to all the parents who helped with our Walk & Roll to School Day — it was a great success!

Heads up! LTD passes may stop working after October 15th if they didn't get renewed properly behind the scenes (you don't need to do anything each year to renew your pass). If your pass doesn't work next time you ride the bus, go to the front office to get it renewed.
